Aarav Chopra, student of Class 5 th in The Shri Ram School, Aravali, learned the importance of tree plantation and keeping the environment clean through environmental science classes. He started a small campaign at home by distributing plants as return gift on his birthday. Somika, proud founder of the RUHAANIYAT: HERBAL BATH started her journey as an individual who propagated the use of herbal products and the goodness which nature provides us. She was firm believer that all the natural things need not to be adulterated with chemicals in order to redeem more goodness. Ruhaaniyat is just not a business as she a lot of personal sentiments attached to it.
Her journey starts from her teenage years when she was a curvy, pretty girl. Allowed her to indulge herself a little, but she was the girl who always got everybody’s love and attention .But one thing, she always struggled with Skin problem, acne issue. Consulting dermatologists felt the last resort to her.” I consulted a lot of dermas and took several pills and medicines in order to cure my acne but in return what I got was lot of side effects and not to forget the waste of time and energy. And, on one fine day, I stumbled upon some article related to natural cure for skin problems. Fortunately I tried the remedies prescribed in the article for myself and somehow to my surprise it worked and that’s when I decided to dig deeper into the natural methods and remedies”.
She was pursuing Software Engineering and along with that she spent a lot of time in researching about natural ingredients, herbs and the possible combinations. Later, Somika joined Bhatnagar International as a Graphics Designer but her passion always lied in discovering herbs & nature. She started with some experiments at home, in the kitchen. She sourced them in very less quantity as it was the first batch. She launched few variations of soaps and few other products depending upon the skin types and made official Facebook and Instagram handles to run my business efficiently and also to take her products to every doorstep so that her products could benefit the most people it can. The feedbacks and reviews did amazing which made her more motivated to research and create more products for skin and hair care.
Today, after 1 year of tremendous hard work and sticking to her ethics of delivering best natural handmade products to her clients, Ruhaaniyat is the brand with almost 25 products which include skin care & hair care. She may have a limited client base for now but those clients have never turned back to other products once after using Ruhaaniyat. Biggest Achievement was receiving an appreciation letter from Mr. Suresh Prabhu, the minister of commerce and industry for her products. Also, it feels great when she gets invitations from the schools on special occasions such as Holi, to come as a guest teacher and teach the kids about herbal colors and how one can make them in his own kitchen with all the natural ingredients. There is a long way to go and there will be lot of obstacles but the love and positive feedback keeps her going!
Coming out is when you decide that you want to share your
sexual orientation or your gender identity with the people you trust and who
you think would support you. It is when you decide that you want to let others
know that you’re a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. But what needs to be
understood is that the decision to come out should lie in the hands of the
person whose sexuality is being talked about. No other person should tell the
world of an individual’s sexual preference. The right to come out is of that
person alone and if you call yourself an ally of the community, you’d
understand this.
Coming out is often full of emotions and seems like a hurdle
to many. But once you do come out, it’s as if a huge secret burden is off your
chest. There’s no particular time that you have to come out. The time
you think that you’re comfortable enough sharing this personal and individual
decision with other, is the perfect time. Coming out is something you have to
deal with almost all your life as you meet new people. It’s approached
differently at different times but something that should remain stable is
knowing that the person you’re coming out to, is woke enough to accept you.
Coming out is a process and there’s no one certain way to go
about it. You just have to be sure of when you want to do it and to whom you
want to come out to. For instance, some families aren’t supportive of the queer
nature because however glum it sounds, there’s a lot of homophobia as well as
transphobia that exists in this world. You need to be careful if you depend on
your parents financially and if you think that coming out to them will put you
in an unsafe position.
A lot of teens find it comfortable to come out to people who
belong to the community already. This is because of the predetermined fact that
those people will accept them with open arms. A lot of other times, people come
out to their elders, their friends and often their teachers. It is your decision
to choose who you want to share this with.
Sexuality is fluid. Sexuality is a complex operation. It takes a lot of time for individuals to grasp their gender identities and work with it thereafter. So, don’t be disheartened if you’re not sure of what category of the community you fall into. There’s a lifetime to sort that out. You’re not in any way different, or mentally ill for having a particular sexual or gender identity.
